CER 900 IRON CLUBHEADS
The CER golf club head component line is known for models targeting the highest levels of Playability for golfers of all abilities. To that end, The Maltby Design Team redesigned our most popular line of irons, the 851UM, with the goal of enhancing that level of playability even more. The GolfWorks CER 900 series irons incorporate the same great blade profile and combine it with enhanced weight distribution, shock dampening technology and a great new modern look. A slightly deeper undercut was designed into the CER 900 irons, making available more weight to place in the perimeter, improving stability and forgiveness. Also, the back flange of the undercut was positioned further back from the face, which moved the rearward c.g. further to the rear, enhancing playability. A rubber tungsten insert was added under the back medallion to help dampen vibration, enhancing the already great feel. The result — The GolfWorks CER 900 irons top the “900” point level (Ultra Game Improvement) in the Maltby Playability Factor.
Highlights:

solid feel nice distance

I built a set of the CER 900 with maltby design dynamic gold Lite shafts cut to stiff. I played 18 yesterday on a regulation course and was pleased with the results. I hit a 4 iron from 207 to about 8 feet (missed the putt) Off the clubface the feel is truly reminiscent of a forging. thin topline is nice at address. twice on a mishit 3-iron from the rough i got a stinger in my hands and a minor "dead" feel at impact. I think that may have more to do with how the shaft set in the clubhead because I hit it flush a few times from the fairway and it felt great. These irons are suitable for many levels of play. thinner topline will appeal to seasoned low handicappers and the forgiveness and perimeter weighting will appeal to higher handicappers. I will also give some props here for the maltby design Dyn Gold iron shafts. If you are a club maker, these are an excellent value with the combo flex shafts.

Forgiving and Attractive

I ordered a 7-iron, assembled with CER FW-70 graphite shaft and Chamois grip.
After giving this "test" iron a lengthy workout on the range and then playing a round with it, I am totally impressed.
The vibration dampening properties in the clubhead, the graphite shaft and Chamois grip make this stick a pleasure to hit. It's the perfect soultion for the bursitis in my right elbow.
This iron sets up nicely at address with a thin topline and moderate offset.
And this iron is very forgiving on mis-hits, especially those toward the toe.
In addition to its performance, the clubhead features an attractive contemporary design.
Overall, the CER 900 is a great choice for the mid- or high-handicapper who wants distance, control, plenty of forgiveness and a great-looking clubhead.
